Animal Stamps
Greetings all!

A few things of note:

1. I've stamped several apps, but a couple need a few more votes. So please give them a vote. There's only 2 right now!

2. I've noticed a slight problem with screened apps taking a very long time to get stamped due to a large variety of stamping options, especially on open-ended ones. I've been thinking about this for awhile now, but just haven't been able to come up with a rule that would help this fact, since others have made rules concerning this issue as well.

Screened comments are still allowed. However, if 2 weeks have passed with all different votes, the comments will be un-screened. This hasn't been too much of a problem, but I hate stamping people with 10 different votes and only 2 are the same.

Remember, it is against the rules to screen only part of your comments. If you choose to unscreen your comments (I often screen the first few votes, then unscreen them all to help prevent sheeping), you must unscreen all of them. This has not been a problem, in fact, I think it's often done on accident, but please keep an eye out for that.

Feel free to post an app or vote on others until the new theme gets put up!

I'm so sorry I've been so inactive lately! I'm putting this community on temporary hiatus for about a month. I'm going on vacation and don't want anyone to think this place has been abandoned! See you around!

Animal Stamps
Sorry this is so late, but real life has, you know, a habit of getting in the way.

The application is the same as the Celtic animal symbolism theme, so just make the necessary changes and you'll be good to go! In the same way, you can ask for one or two stamps since there are so many options!

Also, I'm going to remove the moderated posting for now. There's been less spam lately, so hopefully I can keep it like this!

  1. Please vote on everyone that needs it.
  2. You may post 2 themes at once.
  3. Please tag your application with !needs votes and [native american theme].
  4. Check over the options below.
  5. Post!

I got a lot of really great votes on this theme, but none of them quite resonated with me. I thought about why this might be so and came to the conclusion that when I submitted my application the first time, I hadn't quite thought my way through the theme properly. So I'd like to submit it again, this time with answers that better represent my perspective, and see what I get. Thanks for voting! (Oh, and the stamps I received the first time were for Goose and Butterfly.)

1st-Mar-2011 03:02 pm - Theme # 20 : Bird Families
Animal Stamps
I'm really excited for this theme - it took a bit of work, but I think it turned out neat. We've got three bird feeders right next to our living room window, and I've been having a blast identifying our various feathered visitors.

I tried to pick bird groups that people would be familiar with. Some are subcategories of the others - owls and vultures belong in the raptor group, but I thought that they're different enough. Crow and ravens are under the songbird group, which is itself under the perching birds group. I added the most general of habitats and areas of the world where each group can be found, as well as random words that describe them somewhat to help with the voting.
  1. Please vote on everyone that needs it. I do not want to give anyone a !do not vote tag :(
  2. You may post 2 themes at once.
  3. Please tag your application with !needs votes and [bird families theme].
  4. Check over the options below.
  5. Post!

Animal Stamps
I have returned to my week-long sojourn in Colorado and am excited to get this community back into the swing of things!
  1. Please vote on everyone who needs it!
  2. Vote in the poll below.
  3. I'm putting the finishing touches on our next theme - bird families - so stick around for that sometime later today!
I used an online randomizer to create this poll. Vote for what you think our next couple of themes should be. Please don't vote for all of them :)

Poll #1712034 Theme Ideas

What should our next couple of themes be?

animated movie cats
deer types
non-sporting dog breeds
draft horses
whale types
small wild cats

That's all for now!
